His Texan-bred agrarian clock tells him it’s just after dawn. The glass of water on the bedstand sits filled with the little bubbles that means it's been there for a few hours.

This is the line I read first. The cut for this part (when I didn't realize there were 3 parts before this one). Your choice of words moves me. You should post this in be_perfect (if you haven't) because people NEED to be reading what you are writing.

Shelbecat, I just posted this over at the be_perfect community. Was a good practice for me since it's the first community I've joined. I understand there are several other FNL communities, but I don't want to X-post everywhere. Which do you recommend?

We can talk via e-mail if you like. shelbecat[@]hotmail.com. I personally think be_perfect is the only community you need to post to, but I always cave and post to fridaynight_fic (i think that's the correct name) as well.

E-mail me if you want info on how to lay out your journal, etc.

Saw the rec on Be Perfect and couldn't pass up a chance to read a gapfiller for FNL and Tim Riggins. Thought it was wonderfully done and rather heartbreaking at the same time. Thank you.

So little support and direction in Tim's life. It was affecting to see how much a little TLC could do to shore him up. My only criticism of Part IV would be of the choice of "agrarian" in describing his mental clock. I just don't get the sense that he's ever been up at dawn to tend the animals, etc. And the image of him hungover on the couch in the Pilot makes me think he's not a lark either.

But in sum, this was a tender, beautifully described exploration of some of his challenges. Thanks.
