I had a similar experience white water rafting--I was only 11 or 12 I think, and I remember it being scary and a lot of work with the paddling!

It was intense. I would do it every weekend if I could. But the Ohio River just isn't whitewater material. :)

Oh my god. This post is fantastic!! Seriously. This is a GREAT short story. You are so talented! BTW, you are thinking of the River Styx, I believe. What an awesome post.

Ah yes, the River Styx! I KNEW you would know it. As I was typing "Isn't there a river in Greek myth?" I pictured you reading that sentence and saying "YES!! There is!! It's called the ___!!!" Ha. :D
