it was a lot of fun for me. and it was surprisingly difficult to distinguish between "stuff i like and will read" and "stuff that is actually a particular kink". so that was an education in itself. :)

Wow. This is useful. You know, I am not sure what turns me on in fanfic. I don't think I've ever thought about it seriously. Nothing all that uncommon, I guess, looking at the list. It's weird, though. You know that long, long, long BSDM story Aphrodisia? The only scene that really turned me on was the one when they were shopping for toys. Your list has made me realize several things:

2. Most of the items off your list that I found particularly applicable to me were related to (loss of) control. What’s more, a lot of them were indirectly related, i.e.: sex in public is arousing, to me, not because of the exhibitionism but because it indicates a singlemindedness towards the act (like we talked about in The Bee Scene: half-craziness = extreme eroticism, apparently). Likewise jealousy is arousing because it’s involuntary. Who, me? Massive control issues? Nah.
