I liked the second season more, mainly because it was a more cohesive whole. I'm glad that it didn't go a third season. I like that they know when to stop. They've said they don't want to wear out a story. Which I really wish American shows would do. So many programs are so good, but then go way to long. X Files is one that comes to mind. In my opinion, a TV show should only last five years at most. I think that's why I like British TV so much. Most shows only last about three seasons, because the creators have the attitude, "time to do something new". I like the feeling when a show ends, and I want more. It means they did their job right.
yeah, you're right. i hate being left wanting more... but it is definately better than a show thats run its course and is scraping the bottom of the barrel for story ideas. thats why i usually stop watching most shows before they are over. its nice that extras had a finale to wrap things up, rather than just leaving everyone hanging (that has happend with a couple of my HBO shows and that just pisses my right off).
