I'm really loving your fic, so much so that I had to go in search of it as I hadn't seen it for a few weeks - I'm going to have to join TLJR!:-)
I feel a bit guilty reading all those chapters & not commenting before so apologies. Great story!

Thank you and I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Sorry again for the gap - real life ate up my buffer in a big old hurry!

Obviously I'd love it if you did join TLJR but I'm not pushy, you can just watch! ;) (I still live in hope that one day TLJR may get over 20 watchers!)

And if you'd like to just carry on checking whenever I'm going to try and get things out about once a week from now on instead of twice weekly.

Marian stood her ground. "That is a risk I am willing to take. Robin needs me to be his eyes and ears at the castle."

"And what bits of you does Gisborne need?"

That was I think my...fifth copied choice of favourite lines. I just couldn't pick because that whole scene between Marian and Matilda was wonderful and so spot on. I could feel the frustrations Marian so often makes me feel when watching the show.

Another wonderful chapter. The conversation between Marian and Matilda conveys Marian's ambivalences and inner conflicts about Guy very well. Matilda is obviously not quite impartial where Guy is concerned, but she does point out a basic reality that Marian is in denial about: the degree to which his hopes for a bearable future are invested in her, and the fact that she (presumably) knows she'll have to crush those hopes even as she encourages him to cultivate the better side of himself.

Very well-written section with Robin and Djaq; I love the bit where Djaq acquiesces in Robin's gallantry because she's so numb from the little girl's death.

Thank you!

Matilda's been more on the receiving end of "Gisborne" than "Guy" so she's pretty sceptical about Marian's belief that she can change him but she's in no doubt that Guy has invested much more in Marian than she thinks - or will admit to.

I always wondered what Marian would have done if Guy really had just done a total about-face - killed the sheriff, become loyal to King Richard and asked her to marry him. Could she really have said "Oh well done - but actually I'm in love with Robin Hood. Good for you though!" XD

Ah yes, that's the million-dollar 100,000-marks-of-silver question, isn't it? :D ( ... )
