Yay! I only submitted the one fic, so this is mostly a big congrats to the people who posted so many awesome things, but I am really excited. Allan is such an interesting character and he just got screwed over so repeatedly on the show that this outpouring of love makes me feel a bit better lol. Good job everyone!
I'd just like to so that I'm tremendously proud that we treated Allan right (and so warn out writing that I seriously wondered just now if the past of 'treat' was 'traught'.)
From here in England there was a nail biting wait for the close of play, and all the time I kept wondering if we'd win, or come an honourable second.
I'm just hoping they give us a couple of months to vote - so much to read and so little time!!!
Congratulations to everyone who took part, and for getting our boy the recognition he deserves ... Not bein' funny but the best man won!
Amen, mideltone_one! I second everything you said. I went to bed exhausted and creatively drained, knowing that somewhere in North Texas, there was a Robin fan with an extra hour or two to post past my deadline. High five to everyone for "Treating Allan Right" (maybe not in every fic--**waggles eyebrows suggestively**)! Now to go spend some time on my fan fic friends who've been missing me & do some reading. Gracious me, but it's gonna be hard to vote!
Voting will commence by Feb. 7 and end on Feb. 28 for the individual comms. So start reading now and be ready to start casting your ballots! And remember, you may vote on ALL the comms and I'd highly encourage you to read fic other than Allan - it won't hurt his feelings and you'll find some amazing stories on those other comms too. :)
To everyone who conspired with me via e-mail...YAY! I think part of the reason Allan didn't get beat is that we didn't use this forum to announce what epic fics were being written. Sneaky...hell, yes! We're Allan fans...what do you expect?
The other reason, of course, is that ALLAN IS AWESOME AND DESERVED HIS MOMENT IN THE SUN!
And, thank God that second epic fic from jagnikjen was for Much. As someone in the same time zone as she, I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw it go up at 11:47 p.m. (simulataneously with my last fic...for John).
I am basking in the sun today, Baby! (Tomorrow, when the realization that we have the hardest voting to contend with hits, I may feel differently.)
We're devious, and we're clever ... We are Allan a Dale, and we've just stolen somebody else's catchphrase!
I spent quite a long time this morning trying to work out why the scores at the top of the intercomm weren't right - I kept thinking jagnikjen's epic was for RAS, which made me think there were lots of other fics still to go into the count!
This was definitely not good for my nerves. But I'd do it again at the drop of a hat - just not tomorrow!
The fault was all mine - misreading which comm the epic fic was for. Earlier in the day I multiplied 100 by 20 and got 20000, so I was pretty much past helping.
I loved the scoreboard. Thank you for putting in all the effort to keep it up to date.
That was amazing! Look at what we managed to do in one month! Special round of applause for mideltone_one and whytewytch4 who contributed so many fics for Allan.
(But ... to vote on all the comms I would have to read 278 fics in a month - the shortest month of the year, too ...)
Thank you for the round of applause. Allan is such a great character, that to be honest it was more of a labour of love. I'd like to thank everyone who wrote for our boy.
I'd like to thank whytewytch4, whose continuous contributions really helped keep me sane whilst I was writing, and for carrying the torch into the small hours.
I read somebody on one of the other comms saying "Allan was always going to win." I wish they had told me at the start of the month!

Just kidding!
Extremely awesome effort, and congrats on getting nearly 80,000 more words of Allan fic written in just 31 days!
