ROFLMAO!!! Amusing, audacious, all Allan!! (AND a bit of alliteration!). Loved this! THIS is what should have happened with the gang once Robs died, instead of some silly half-brother. I always thought Allan had the brains, just not the confidence, to be a leader. Rather a rollicking read! (I'm on a roll!)

Thank you for the kind comments, and the alliteration!

I absolutely agree with you about what should have happend after Robin's demise. Until Allan's fate came to light I had it all planned out. There'd be a power struggle between Tuck, Archer, and Allan to decide who should lead, and Allan would eventually win through. Then there would be continual friction (and not the good sort!) between the three of them to the end of the season. But what do I know?

Ah, see, I had Tuck and Archer dying in the final struggle in Nottingham, along with Kate (didn't like those 3 much--I know, you can't tell! ;) ). Little John, being so sensitive, is too devastated to carry on, so it's up to Allan, Mr Sesible, to take the reins. BTW, Guy survives the final confrontation in my version as well; Vasey and Isabella's fates are unsure. I feel a little ficlet coming on.

I saw Archer realising he's not up to leading, then coming over to support Allan, leading to Tuck demanding the gang make a choice between him and Allan, and them all standing by Allan, giving Tuck a "don't let the door hit your arse on the way out" look - exit Tuck stage left!

I agree Guy should have survived, so he and Allan could play the reversal of roles game - imagine his face being ordered around by Allan. :)

I agree I wouldn't miss Kate if she died. In fact I liked the character so little I can't even be bothered to think of a clever way to get rid of her - maybe she falls down a well, with spikes at the bottom, and that's that. Or, Allan banishes her for upsetting Much in the previous series.

Archer I would keep, though I don't like the name, but only as eye candy. Maybe he could be used to lure female villans into traps - basically every week he'd be tied to a tree with his shirt off.

Can't wait to see your series 4 ficlet.

Wonderful! Allan would be just the one to pull it all off, too. He really was quite brilliant.

Well done.

Glad you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. :)

Oh, what a grand plan. I wish I could come up with a plan, even half a plan to write a good episode-like fic.

Wonderful job.

You just never know when something will pop into your head. I ended up writing this in one day, and what started it off was hearing somebody do an impression of Michael Caine saying the "blow the bloody doors off" line. I could just hear Allan saying it, and it all went from there. Coming up with a middle ages replacement for Mini Coopers held me up for quite a while though.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks :)

Great fic! Reminds me of some of the episodes - you do the action sequences really well! This would've been great if filmed. I can picture it in my mind.

Thank you!

I would have loved to have seen the escape sequence on Shetland Ponies. Maybe I should get in touch with Ridley Scott - Russell Crowe on a pony! :D

Even if he had thought of a simpler plan...well, no, not Allan...this probably WAS the simple plan. As Whytewytch said above, his plan would be audacious! Nothing was OTT for our outlaw.

And I loved the bit about LJ at the end. Money well spent indeed!
