I am Belmondo and I write everything down in my little journal. When my lover, seemingly out of nowhere, shoots me in the belly and I fall to the floor dying, I pull from my breast pocket my little notebook and a pen, and I write the following:

If I write this down, it will help me later to understand why it happened.
Only even as I write it down I know I'm about to die.

And then I do.
