The archaeological status goes like this:

I booted up three of the four PC desktop towers I have owned over the years -- Barcalounger, Gomez, and Chavez. I do not know what happened to Darth Vader. I have an old Gateway PC in my garage that has a lot of stuff I would love to keep elsewhere. But I have had trouble copying it over. It does have a CD-R drive but it's faulty. Grr. I want that stuff.

I bought myself today an external case for an EIDE drive, which should be what all our old PCs use and should be fully compatible with Macs now. If it works for these drives, I will bring in the case and you can borrow it and do the same. Or you can bring me the HD and I can copy off files for you if you like.
