I hate to admit it, but the marketing of the film, ie. the poster, turned me off immediately. I thought it was a spoof film, like one of those "Meet the Spartans" only with a kid in a Rambow outfit a la Stewie Griffin killing bad guys and making "baby jokes". No, its just that I'm a judgemental jerk when it comes to posters (but i still think the poster is horrible). Then I saw the above image and read a synopsis and realized this would be totally up my alley. I'm pretty excited to see it.

Well. I do feel like they went out of their way to misrepresent with the poster. I don't know who's idea it was. I was going to say it was probably a U.S. distribution thing because if they can't market it as an existing genre it won't play well outside of LA and NY (and I wish I could put Portland on that list), but it's pretty much the same poster in the UK. Possible in the UK such a misrepresentation doesn't exist or isn't as obvious? I wonder how well "Epic Movie" and its ilk do across the pond?

I mean, without the context of the bad spoof movies, the poster itself is interesting. It makes me want to say, "Huh, what's that kid up to anyway?" But in context of that demographic/movie style, I know what you mean.
