I see you have learned the secrets of fresh vegetables.

It is funny that you worried about a side. Silly boy who goes out to eat too much.

No, no, "side" is maybe the wrong word. I just like bread with my pasta. That's much more an eating-in thing from my family. I don't concern myself with it even when I do eat out (if there's ever bread eating out, it's an appetizer, not with the meal).

If you ever have a hankering to cook with onions and peppers, come do it soon in my kitchen. I have more than I could possibly use right now.

Is that the one with cashews in it? I know them better by sight than by name.

mmmm. that sounds good.

i have just made dinner for myself: a salad. it has in it:
redleaf lettuce
butter lettuce
mixed baby greens
soy ginger tofu
cold steamed broccoli
a big yellow tomato
carrot
kidney beans
garbanzo beans
almonds
w/ sesame/ricevinegar/soy dressing

exciting! i eat a salad like this almost every day, though, so not so novel.

when i come home we should cook!

okay, but remember, i've still got my training wheels on.

your salad sounds good. i don't much like tofu but i don't hate it, and soy ginger tofu sounds good.

the cool thing about really nice nonstick pans is that you can fry tofu and eggs nice and crispy without them sticking at all. my soy ginger tofu tastes very little like tofu and very much like the crispy salty litle niblets of stuff left in the bottom of a pan after you make a stir fry. probably doesn't hurt that i use an awful lot of soy sauce. salt is phenomenal.

curry tofu is also fun. it ends up just tasting like curried... currystuff. the tofu carries it well.

and by "cooking together," usually i mean "shopping together and then i might request you chop something but otherwise i'll take over even if i don't mean to because that's just how i cook unless you're really assertive about it." angie can attest to said propensity. still, though, it's fun.
