Well, the shoot dates for Open are officially being pushed back so we can actually raise money for the film. Debi and I are going to start applying for grants as soon as tomorrow, and I'm now considering offering the film up as my NWFC Certificate/Thesis Project. It might make a lot of things easier, including getting backing from the school. It's going to make December easier, too, since it looks like it might be an exciting month for me filmically. I've been asked to shoot something for Cassie, help out on a music video with Andy, and it sounds like I'm going to be on-call to work in the tape room at Laika.
I'm scared to push it back, scared it's a big step on a slippery slope toward it not getting done. However, I believe that Debi and I will fight that happening pretty hard. I think the main trick here is that pushing back the film can't feel like it's indefinite. It doesn't mean relax: it means work harder.
Right now, depending on factors (grant timelines, mostly) we're looking at shooting sometime in March.
In other news, apparently sometime before two days ago I bruised (and/or broke?) my coccyx. That means tail bone. Let me tell you, it's the super suck. My friggin ass hurts. It hurts to sit. It hurts to get up. It hurts to twist, or bend, or lean, or raise up on one cheek to grab out my wallet. It hurts to drive. It hurts to sit at a computer. It hurts to sit in class. It hurts to edit homework, or to write possibly-neat story ideas. It hurts to use the internet or watch movies in any position other than prone. In other words, it hurts to do any of the things I ever do. This is totally lame.
I don't really know what to do. I took half a hydrocodone and it has yet to make me feel notably better. If this doesn't feel better by the weekend, I may actually go to a doctor.
So shitty.
