It was good enough that I have not completely written off Wes Anderson. I'd like to see it again, but I felt it had a lot more going on than A Life Aquatic and was about on par with The Royal Tanenbaums, but (slightly) less goofy and (slightly?) more personal

The truth is, the man makes funny scenes but they're sterile. The ironically detached thing has gotten stretched so far that it's only about itself... Frankly, A Life Aquatic had two or three hilarious moments and good dialogue throughout, but it only works as a self-referential thing. It's a self-parody...
Darjeeling aspires to be more. Or that's how I felt when seeing it. I'd like to see it again, maybe when it goes to the Laurelhurst, before I really pass final judgment.
