So Martin Scorsese finally wins an Oscar and it's more disappointing than if he never had, because the whole thing was built up so much that it felt like a giveaway, a pity Oscar, and The Departed deserved not to feel like a pity Oscar. Anyway I hate the Oscars. A lot

Producer always gets the Best Picture statue. Makes sense too. Producers do quite a lot and deserve that recognition. Obviously it bleeds together if a director also serves as his/her own producer.
