So, the kids got obsessed with "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", and TinyTimelet in particular loves Donny Osmond, so we went on YouTube to see if we could find any of his old performances. We found the green-screen version of Weird Al's White and Nerdy--three minutes of Donny dancing. Al...I dunno, he may be dancing too, I couldn't ( Read more... )

My niece loves Donny too from DWTS.

Assume you saw this video. It was after that I watched Weird Al's one and squeed over the brief Seth Green appearance. Donny seems very willing to just have fun.

Oh, lordy, yes...greenscreen WaN is truly a thing of beauty. Donny Osmond gained much respect in my world back when I first saw that. :)

It's odd, isn't it...the less seriously a person takes himself, the better I like him. :D

S'truth.

Btw, have you seen the HQ version? If you download it you can watch it full-screen, and see all the mock-serious voguing faces he's making while he's dancing. 'Tis brill. :)

Isn't that hilarious??? I enjoy it much more than the video it was from. I'm not sure if it's in that video or another one on the "making of" that has Al and others losing it when they watch the replay of what Donny did. Priceless.

Anyone who can be that goofy and have it recorded and not care is awesome in my book.

That is awesome. Because I watch Castle I'd sometimes catch the last few minutes of Dancing With the Stars when Donny was on. I (thankfully) missed most of the dancing but I'd catch the end of show comments by the dancers, and there was a lot of that same goofy attitude. I particularly remember when they'd apparently done an 80's night and he was dressed up as Adam Ant. I think he may have referred to himself as the punk rock king of Salt Lake City.

the punk rock king of Salt Lake City.

:D It sounds impressive, until you consider how much competition he likely had...

I remember when I went to the show. I was expecting passable singing and much snarking to follow. I was blown away! Who knew?

I know! You can see why he was such a teen idol, can't you?
