Very late catching up post-hols but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this. Your Gene is spot-on, and I love how he doesn't give in to the great big fat temptation that is stoned Sam - I've always seen Gene as basically a very moral man and this only goes to prove it! *g* Also love how Sam goes all Bowie when he's tripping and his random references to jumping. Lots of lovely little touches which make this a very special fic - thank you for sharing.

Exactly. He's not very interested in the porn movies and he tells Chris he can't treat his date like a "prozzie" (unless she is one, of course). His standards might be Neanderthal-ish, but he does have them. *g*

I think you made good choices in terms of what got left out. This is a perfect vignette, with excellent use of Gene's POV including his self-awareness of what he can and can't let himself say or do with drugged Sam.

ETA-My favorite song quote was "You know you can't hold me forever."

ETA-Sorry for double edit---Love the title also. One of my favorite Roxy Music songs. I did a major Squeeeeee when that turned up in the 2nd series.
