So, does anybody want to hear my thoughts on yaoi Due South? All about Fraser and the Rays and their various relationships?

Well, good, 'cause I'm too tired to type 'em up anyway. I've had a rough few days, and I'm whacked. I would like for ghoulchick to post her response to LoM 1.4 *pokes* so we can discuss it, and I'd like to finish up my own reaction ( Read more... )

*readies feather boa and platform heels*

Oh wait, due South LoM???? YEAH! omg 1.04, the main force that propelled "Shadow Box" into hell what it is today. Warren! Who, really, is charismatic in a totally sleezy way. Am I the only person ever to write Gene/Warren? I think so...wait, that's probably not something to brag about. hmmmm. But the music! And Sam and Gene dancing! And Joni, poor girl...and Gene, wow, GENE in that episode as played by Phil is just amazing. To me his talk with Sam by the canal about his starting out on the force is the HEART of Sam/Gene slash.

....so um, anyway, looking forward to reading your thoughts on 1.02!

Oh, gosh, I loved "Shadow Box". Even though I skipped over it at first because the summary put me off. "A Gene a lot of you are going to hate", or something along those lines? I did not want to hate Gene. But then I got desperate for fic and read it anyway, and it was great! *still owes comments*

I do have to say that I think that's the only Gene/Warren I've read, and overall I'm really not feeling the lack. *shudders*

I LOVED the dancing. I think that was where I first starting seriously falling for Gene. And the way that Sam and Gene stick together like glue the whole time they're dancing...I realize that it's probably for the camera angles, but I don't care.

The talk by the canal is awesome whether you see the slash or not. (And I'm sure there are people who don't! Right? Somewhere?...) That just cemented the falling-for-Gene thing.

ETA: So wait, what about the platform heels and feather boa? *pouts*

OMG you are hating on Gene/Warren? I'm HURT! Crushed! Um, not really a majority pairing by any stretch. I can't think of any pairing I've ever written where I had to put it in the warnings of the story! LOL ( ... )

*oppresses you on the internets BWAHAHAHA* I think it all has to do with how and why. In the context of the story, yes, it had to be done. It was right and therefore very good, even if I didn't care for the mental images.

OTOH, if you decided to write Gene/Warren in the LoM universe as it is, you'd have to work REALLY hard to convince me. It could be done, but it wouldn't be easy.

Although I have my OTPs, I'll read all different kinds of pairings if the author can make them believable for me. Bad writing turns me off much more than any pairing. Which is another post for another time...

Re people hating victim!Gene...this is fandom. We like our boys hurt and victimized. :D

So you're requesting some kind of internet orgy? Well, we were saving it for when the world was ending, but since you asked...

Just kidding. *g*

...

Hmm. It's harder to be entertaining on command than I thought! Go look at Mme Donut's crossover picfic!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time.

You mean the world's not ending? *squints* It looks like it from here...

Rough time? What? *deletes very long list of whiny things*

Yeah, I'm just really tired.

I'm working on it! :P NOT that it's work, just so we're clear on that. I've seen half the episode, and squeed very quickly over it in a short post just now. Now with no actual analysis, just squee! I need to get the kids settled in and probably snuggle with them, and then I can get back to finish the rest of the episode. (Which, it's very bizarre having already seen the US version of this episode, because I know what happens, more or less, but they're still very different. It's hard to describe.)

Hee! It doesn't look like you've got to the...er, more bizarre aspects of this ep yet. :D I'll be delighted to see your take on that. And on the end of it. *loves all over this episode*

You ARE entertaining. And I like hearing what you have to say, even if I have a hard time thinking of what to say back.

I wish you lived closer too. (Although I'm doing what I can about that...) Not so you could help out, but so we could get together for Girls' Weekends!
