When I used Firefox's installer for the Flash update, I got McAfee something-or-other with it, with no notice that the additional program was being installed. Fortunately, it added an icon to my desktop, so I knew it had been installed and could promptly uninstall it. I had McAfee for years, but recently uninstalled the whole thing to replace it with an antivirus/firewall program that costs a lot less and doesn't lock up my computer when it updates the virus database. I was annoyed that McAfee was (re)installed without my permission, also because it's not good to have two antivirus programs on one computer.
