My pal LD just has a knack for leash-training cats. She trained her cat Kettingur and now Remy and goes on those hour long strolls with then. You need a harness that goes around the neck and then around the body - the ones that dogs put their front legs into are too easy for cats to slip out of.

She also trains them to sit, stay, come when called and do all sorts of tricks. :) You need tons of patience though. :) And lots of kitty treats!

My cat already comes when called... well, not when called by his name, but if I say the words "Feed you!" he comes running up really fast.

I can't imagine what kind of attention I'd garner walking around Wuhan with a leashed cat. I already attract quite enough without that!

I can imagine. We attracted a lot of stares and photos just in Jinshan - and Shanghai is packed with foreigners. :)
