The weather forecast for Calgary today was sunny and plus 10 degrees.... as I look out my window right now I see endless grey skies and snow falling.

Greg and I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this afternoon and coming out of the theatre the wind was icy and biting. I think we're in for a bit of a storm. Wheee!!

seems to me the error was made in TRUSTING the weather report that was actually old enough to have made it to the website ;) after all, isn't that the definition of calgary - " you know you are in calgary when the weather report is wrong almost as soon as it is written"?
:)

As opposed to Vancouver. I'm sure the weather report is correct for some part of greater Vancouver. Just not my part.

We can have very locallized weather here. Has to do with mountains, ocean, and river valley all mushed together.

Your area of the city is geographically unique, that's true. I hope I get to visit when I'm back home.

This is true. They say tomorrow will be sunny and plus 3 so I'm preparing for a foot of snow and blowing winds :)

Welcome to Alberta :)

Was +7 in Edmonton and felt like -7... felt more like Maritime weather with the winds and higher humidity... goes right through ya

I used exactly the same phrase yesterday. Greg knew exactly what I meant but I doubt the average Calgarian would fully understand.

the average prairian (if that's a word) wouldn't comperstand that phrase! they don't understand the concept of it not being THAT cold but it GNAWING at your bones & viscera! they just have no concept! but then again, out ehe in the maritimes, esp closer to the waterways, we don't get a lot of "dead sea scroll" days either! where the wind literally dessicates you in the summertime!
bb - like i said above, canadian weater - love it or live elsewhere :)

This is why people come to Vancouver from the prairies saying, "You guys are wimps!" and end up saying, "Turn up the heat!"

(It's gotta be worse where you are.)

Remember: Damp + -2degrees C = Brrrrr!

bleh. The only time I'm happy about storms is when I know I don't have to go anywhere. :p

Oh! and how did you like the movie?

I enjoyed it, I read the book a long while ago as well as book 5 and 6 so it was a little difficult to set myself back to book 4. But they did an awesome job and stayed pretty true to the book.

I have the same problem with the HP movies. I gobble the book up as soon as it's out then years pass before the movie comes out. I usually end up with vague memories of the book and enjoy the movie almost as if it was brand new to me which is a nice side benefit.
