Mini-fic I started writing on Sunday, edited quickly and entirely unbeta'd. I'm trying to do this new thing where I just post my shit and stop obsessing so much. I have a longer DLM fic that I will post...someday. Hopefully soon, lest I face the wrath of Sheera. :)

I really enjoyed this little snippet. I've only seen this show a handful of times and I always wonder why I don't flip to it more often - it's witty, caustic, amusing, and just so damn unique. Your story does the characters justice and I like how you've made George falling-down drunk but still so sharp with the whole "Cause there's a whole person in there" observation. I can really see this as the ending scene of an episode.

And you need to run (not walk, although I guess you could drive) to your nearest blockbuster and rent the first season. Or if you netflix, do that. It's honestly one of the best things I've seen on TV, definitely unique. They do a perfect balance of absurd humor and poingancy.

Damn, girl, but I love how well you capture all their voices. The way you describe them as drunks, their lines of dialogue, everything; it's all wonderful. George is wonderful in this. She would totally wonder where her soul is and not believe it would fit in her heart. *g*

And Rube! Oh, Rube. You are so cute as the trying-not-to-be-adorable father figure. Also, I love how you included his mad reader skillz prowess there in the middle; I remember the chat we had about it and how, yeah, there's gotta be a method to what he does. You captured that very nice and the whole thing felt like a scene out of the show.

Also, the last line? HOLY CRAP PERFECT.

So, I could get a second job, and then pay you to write me a new episode of DLM every week, and then it would be like the show never ended. Whatddya think? ;)

I love drunken reapers. There needs to be more of them. All the time. I especially want to get Rube drunk, and then go off on an hour long conversation about existentialism and literature and reaper skills and waffles.
