It's canned meat and yet it's pretty tasty. And it even looks pretty good once it's fried up. No real recipes. For the 'sushi' and handroll, I used sushi rice tossed with seasoned rice wine vinegar. But take a look at what Spam can do!

All I could do, in reading this post, was repeat the Monty Python Spam skit OVER and OVER!

"Well, there's egg and bacon; egg, sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam; egg, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam; spam, sausage, spam, spam, spam, bacon, spam, tomato and spam; spam, spam, spam, egg and spam..."

That came to mind as well for me. LOL

Spam's ok, but even I can only ingest so much salt. The last time I had it, I had bought some for hurricane Gustav, just in case. Ya know lack of electricity one can survive off cold spam if need be, that sort of thing. Wound up not really needing it for that purpose. So I fried some up and .. I swear they make it saltier than I remember it being. *shrugs* Might be just me cause I hadn't had in any in a good long while.

God I could eat spam every day. I wouldn't live very long, but it would be worth it.

Growing up my Mom made this hero type sandwich, recently I was wanting to recreate it and was looking at the back of a spam can and there was the hero sandwich. Haven't eaten Spam in years, purchased the can and make the sandwiches. It was chopped spam, eggs, mayo, green olives and cheese. You stuffed it in a hot dog bun, wrapped it in foil and baked it. It was as amazing as I remembered.
