+ I'm out of milk-type drinks (rice or almond milk are my preferred ones, lately, though I did have a stint where I was using homemade sunflower seed milk in my smoothies. Take it from me: sunflower seed milk is WAY TOO STRONG for daily use unless you want to taste sunflower seeds and nothing else). I'm too lazy to buy more right at this moment. ( Read more... )

vegan MREs, it can be the new rage. it would make traveling through herbivorous wastelands as a vegan easier, sometimes.

I adore spinach as a component of lots of things, like quiche or enchiladas, and that's most often what I do with mine. I made a nice spinach cream soup tonight, though. Let me know if you want recipes.

Enchiladas! That isn't something I've considered, it sounds delish. If you had any recipes for that I'd definitely be curious :)

I think I've promised a few people that recipe, come to think of it. Tell you what, I'll tack it onto my next post.

Do you eat bacon? I like to cut up a piece of bacon or two in my cast iron pan, fry until it's almost done, then throw in dark greens until I can't fit any more and cook them until limp in the grease.

If you don't eat pork then it works pretty well with garlic too. Mmm...greens. My favorite!

I'm a... passive bacon eater. Like, if it's there, I'll have some, but I don't really cook meat.

I think someone once told me that garlic-wilted spinach was their favorite way to prepare it. Added to me to-try list!

Someone was telling me about kale chips. You might have to google that one.

Huh, interesting. I've had those assorted puffy veggie chips but never ones that were labeled as kale.

A friend of mine made them last year when we had an overabundance with the CSA we were doing. She said they were easy to make and a lot healthier than potato chips.
