Wow, you totally made me believe the kink for them! Nice work!
I really like your Gus. My favorite thing in the story, I think:
He just kept turning it over and over in his mind, like a strange Aramaic-rooted word that wouldn't click, or ambiguous content that refused to fall neatly into a hierarchical system because it wouldn't properly slot into any of the general parent categories.
Because, ahahahahaha, OH GUS. *g* I was dying laughing by the time I read this. Beautiful!
Thank you! I was sort of on the fence about these two until upon re-watching I noticed that Shawn has a huge voyeurism thing going on (always wanting to set Gus up on dates and somehow be *involved* in them, and consistently stalking Gus on said dates and watching him from afar) and that he also simultaneously has the whole exhibitionism thing, what with his reveals and dropping comments about fantasizing about riding that ride at the Planetarium buck naked. And then I thought about Gus and his love of order and his categorically thinking mind aaand this fic was born. *g*
I... let's see if I can explain what was happening in my brain when I wrote this. Basically, the way I see it, Shawn's into bondage/masochism and being Shawn, isn't really all that safe about it and ends up in some iffy situations. Being that one that he calls, Gus starts to figure out what's going on over time and also begins to notice his own reactions and the fact that something in him is responding to Shawn and the situation.
Sorry it was confusing; a lot of times stuff doesn't make it out of my brain onto the page.
