I’ve decided to take a page out of thefourthvine’s book and to share my love for this pairing in essay form. If you’ve never read one of her “ Fandoms I Have Loved” posts, in essence, they consist of talking about a fandom in a way that’s accessible to someone who has zero familiarity with the canon, and give all the pertinent information to get into the fandom

I don't know how I missed your original post to this, there is so much YAY here. Plus, giggling. God, I love this pairing, and it isn't as obvious now, but back in the day liking Brian/Rome instead of Brian/Dom was like being the only het fan in a mainly slash fandom. Or the reverse. Like, you didn't get stones thrown at you, but it was occasionally lonely. And who knows why, because it is so awesome, for the reasons listed above and more. (And the pictures. Mmmn.) Brian and Dom are, they have a certain *thing* going on, with the staring and then more staring, but the tension is different, and potentially mean. I prefer how Brian and Rome are really, truly friends. They know each other, like each other even if they won't admit it because they are too busy bickering, and will always be there for each other.

Plus. Pretty.

Yeah, reading back through quarter_mile and other such places gave me that sense. I'm lonely with some of the other pairings I like in my other fandoms, so I can understand that.

But with these two, I do find it strange that there are so few who like them--they are just so *obvious*. It shocks me that so few people see it! I mean, especially with Brian's *cough*open*cough* nature, it's not like Brian/Dom and Brian/Rome can't co-exist.

I have a soft spot the size of Texas for best friends 'ships, so I suppose these two are right up my alley. Their undeniable best-friend dynamic and the way they just have each other's backs. And them! Having a garage! Being a snarky practically-married couple! ♥

Oh, yeah. The immense pretty certainly doesn't hurt, either. Not that I would know from having taken about 23928392387 caps of them in the movie, or anything.

Sometimes I forget, for minutes at a time, how goddamned funny you are.

I'm talking laughing until I am honest to god crying, bad-mood-what-bad-mood funny.

This is easily 500% better then the movie, even taking into account the immense pretty. You need a MST3-like show or something!

This post inspires me to continue trying to write this pairing. I will refer back to it often.

Ahhh! I am in LOVE with this post OMG THE VISUALS AAH >:D. Years late to the fandom (just watched 2F2F today), but in love with this post (here from the brian/rome tag on quarter_mile). ^^

As well as agreeing that everything you wrote IZ SO TRUE, this part actually made me cry laughing:
and BRIAN, expert at reading body language that he is, correctly (and happily) interprets this to mean that he’s gonna get laid on the hood of his car tonight.
