I do not believe you understand the world, or its current state.  I do not think you have seen the horrors.  I do not think you actually believe what you think you believe.  But I also do not think I know more than you.  I just know differently.

Just to answer as a man, no. I don't feel pressure to look like Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp. At all. I don't know any male who does. I don't need to be thin, or muscular, or well-dressed, or made-up, or groomed. The pressure isn't the same in my experience ( ... )

Before I took that Feminism class, I used to think that I was uninvolved in The Conversation because I don't feel that pressure, that need to be thin or blond or cute. Then I wore a bag that says, "Feminist Studies - Stanford University," and one of my drawmates said, "Well, you're advertising yourself strangely." Why is that strange? I thought.

Honestly, until a disbeliever takes a class or reads a book, until someone sees their professor, a lesbian from back in 'the day,' cry because of the fight, because of how much it means to her to pass on the passion, one does not know. I had no idea. It's everywhere, like a color I had never seen, embedded.

That's the sad truth of it, I think. People don't see it, or refuse to, and instead continue living it, feeding it, giving these misogynistic lifestyles more strength and permanence.

Change is one person at a time. So I've been told. Thank you, though, for your insight. Everything you said I agree with one hundred times over.
