tucking and LONG rides

Aug 23, 2006 22:17

Im going on my first big bike tour from Ottawa to Montreal the first weekend of Sept (will be about 200-250km each way). So far I havent had any issues with tucking, but my rides are only 22km twice daily and was wondering if anyone can make some suggestions to avoid any possible problems that I dont forsee?

I have never tried tucking when riding. Seriously the only time I tuck is when I'm in a swin suit. I'm just surprised that anyone does it. I mean, I know what the seat on my bike is like.

wow, thread necromancy :)

actually, that ride never happened :( but I have never had any trouble with cycling while tucked... actually i find it less painfull on mid to longer rides (20-30km) then untucked

What kind of seat do you use? Mine is the default that came with the bike.

mine too... but I have a really boney butt, so i rest on my pelvis bone... there is very little presure on my bitties.

But next year, either before or right after my SRS, i plan on getting a recumbent bike as they are far easier on the bitties as well as substantially faster :D
