honestly, it was exactly what I expected from him, but we didn't speak comfortably for at least 6 months. He still feels the exact same, but absolutely avoids it. He had to confront it in a few family sessions with doctors/psychs and they essentially laughed at his commenting that its easier to be a fat boy than a fat girl. My mom is trying...but it hasn't gotten anywhere in about 2 years but she knows I'll be 18 soon and taking transition into my own hands. Thanks- I can't wait to get out of this house and into college next year.

It is extremely obvious that he doesnt understand the first thing about transsexualism. No one poisons anothers mind. You dont wake up one day and suddenly say "Im tired of my current gender, I wanna do something different". The one thing about transition that HAS to be true is that it has to be about you. You dont transition because someone else does or doesnt want you to. You transition because you are the one that has to live in that body and mind and soul. It has to be about you and I dont think he will understand that for a long time. Move foward, be yourself!!!!! Michelle
That is almost what my dad said to me - he didn't say that he thought I'd been "poisoned" but he basically said he thought I was fooling myself and that this was just another "bizzare" thing that I'd become fascinted with. Honestly, I don't think that this is something that can just be put in your head if it's not already there - and if there actually are any little yaoi fangirls who "want to be trans because it's cool" I imagine they'd change their minds once they saw exactly what it involves.
Wow... you're parents seem to be racting in exactly the same way as mine. I came out to my family about 4 months ago, and because I am in the bigging/middle of dealing with all of this at the moment I don't really have any advise or wise words, but I would much appreciate some if you do???
