I reread this story today))) It's really beautiful, you know. Such vivid imagery; very much like you to write a story like that, darling. <3
And a powerful ending!

T-thank you <3. I'm not sure if this is really that /beautiful/ in context XD, but I'm glad you think the imagery is vivid (since I did tweak quite a bit here and there). And yes, it seems to be a recurring trend of mine to write stuff like this - I can't say I'm sorry?

Glad you liked the ending too. I was going for "powerful".

Wow I love this! The emotions are both realistic and are actually compatible with the canon because, for once, Light actually kills L instead of deciding he likes sex with him too much to do it!

I also like to think that a part of Light felt a little regret for L's death as he does in your fic, even though he hated him because he stood in the way of his becoming 'God' and all that. So anyway brilliant fic, I enjoyed it (sorry it caused me to ramble on!).

Thank you so much! I was trying to make this as realistic as possible - and not venture off into regions where Light doesn't kill L because the sex is that good (though that could be an interesting idea to explore if you build it up well - difficult to write, however since L and Light are both utterly convinced of being right).

I'd like to think he regretted it too, and he does show some level of respect for L in canon (maybe not respect, but he does think about L quite a few times after the Time!Skip). I think he loathed L for being an obstacle, but maybe missed having someone that challenged him on so many levels? (I don't mind rambling at all, as you can very well see XD).

Yeah, I agree exactly. L is the only one on Light's level really so I don't think he could help having respect for him even though he hated him too. And everyone likes a challenge. xD

Definitely, L and Light are each other's intellectual equals - and I think Light must have been very much in need of a challenge. He seemed kind of depressed and VERY bored before he found the DN.

I think memory!less Light definitely respected and maybe even liked L, though he felt a bit unhinged by his methods. But I also think that Light had a grudging sort of respect for L - as a worthy opponent.

(And I'll stop now XD).
