[And Sakura is the first to arrive, after she got the news. Because showing up at the Uchiha household with onigiri ready to spend some time studying, just to be told of what had happened at the hospital the previous night...well... Even she was affected.

But she knew at that instant where Sasuke was, and even though his parents seemed eager to let him go through it alone, she was not. She understood that they had their own grief to tend to, but she could support her best friend's grief.

So that's what brings her to the building, silently sitting down beside him, and putting the onigiri bag to the side before giving him a big hug.]

[He's not surprised when she shows. He half-expected her or Naruto to be sent after him if they didn't find him themselves.

He doesn't react, but her touch just makes his chest take another painful lurch and he brings his knees a little closer to his body, his head falling lower. Not caring how vulnerable it makes him look.]

[She doesn't tell him how sorry she is for his loss, even though she is sorry, and her heart breaks for him--she knows that none of those words will help, or bring his brother back, or make him feel better.

So instead she shifts closer to him, and pulls him into her arms.] We haven't been in this place in a while...

[rather than helping him relax, that just sends a small tremble through him as he keeps trying to resist the grief that threatens to take over him completely -- but he doesn't resist]
