[Jill] Or I'll die trying, atoning for numb sins

Jill had seen, fought, and unwillingly helped to create her share of B.O.W.s, and all had shared two characteristics: they were ridiculously hard to kill, and they stopped at nothing once living flesh was in their sights.

Bursting through another door, she turned a sharp corner, flew down a set of stairs, and hoisted herself over the railing to drop several feet as the wall above her exploded. She remained crouched and listened, but a second later the staircase groaned under the creature's weight and she had to dive aside as it collapsed in a roaring crunch of metal. A high shriek said it had seen her and she took off again, the guns strapped to her hip and back slapping against her with each step.

It didn't help that she was physically and mentally exhausted, covered in sores and bruises from her last fight, and that the open wounds on her chest were still bleeding -- especially when these details were all in addition to the fact that this B.O.W. was one of the more hardy models. Jill's last grenade had shown that it harbored a weakness against explosives, but bullets bounced right off its thick hide and those were all she had left. Search as she might, there were no oil drums or spare ammunition stores to be found, so all she could do was move and hope to find an advantage in the environment, if not lose the monster entirely.

Her lungs were burning and several of her muscles were stressed to the point of numbness when she threw herself against another door. A rush of hot, sticky night air greeted her, sealing her sweat to her skin, and she quickly deduced that she'd stumbled onto an air base of some kind: a heliport in particular, surrounded on all sides by a high, barbed wire fence. Seconds behind her, the B.O.W. came crashing through the warehouse wall and Jill could only turn to face it, readying one of her half-full automatics.

In the open, the creature looked even bigger and more menacing. Shrieking at her again, it spread its wings -- some twenty feet across alone -- and heaved its enormous body into the air, flapping rapidly to stay aloft. Its belly, Jill noticed, looked vulnerable, consisting of pink-red flesh rather than grey scales or thick leather.

She'd aim for that; it was all she had to go on.

[OOC: Jill-muse needs exercise and I need to write some real action. :| If you couldn't tell. Anyone, everyone. Come save her, or come in and need saving. Or just watch.]
