Finasteride is effective in my experience - sold as Propecia.

Where are you? I'm in the UK, and I got a prescription here from my GP quite easily, though I had to pay for the drug (it worked out about a pound a day, if I remember rightly - it's not cheap). I expect it's also commercially available online, though I'm not sure about that. I can't speak for other countries.

I would keep using the minoxidil even if you start Propecia, there is the possibility that it has prevented additional hair loss and if you stop using it, whatever it was keeping in will fall out.

In my experience, minoxidil also takes at least three months to start working, so you may still regrow hair if you continue using it.

well...I don't know about generic but all my uncles have full hair and very very think too...I don't think it's gene...I am the only one with the thinning....sad
