"Help....help...help"  (imagine the voice trailing off for dramatic affect)...

Please tell me if anyone has had any personal experience regarding what can be done with way too much body hair (*frowns*).

I am trapped in here! This body I have is so hairy (almost I swear like a guerilla). What has worked for any of my sisters out there?? I am trying ( Read more... )

Laser is pretty good if you have the right hair and skin. You should notice a difference even after the first session, though it can take half a dozen or more before you feel satisfied. I've had eight sessions and haven't needed to go for about a year now; I could use a lip maintenance session but on the whole my facial hair is still okay.

If you go for a T-blocker or orchectomy you should have some reduction in body hair, but it's hard to guess ahead of time how much of it is hormonal and how much is genetic.

Hormones will pretty much get rid of it.

that's really not necessarily the case.

It was with me and pretty much everyone else I've known who's gone on estrogen, etc.

She should know it's not hopeless. Hormones are a wonderful thing.

oh, she should absolutely know it's not hopeless. she should also know that hormones are not a cure-all, and are absolutely not a guarantee. in my and several other women's experiences that i know of, hrt did not get rid of body hair to a great extent. i am just presenting that.

Thank you all for your comments. I was hoping to hear how "everyone" had experienced the same positive results from HRT however I am glad that those of you that haven't have shared that with me. I know it can seem trivial but all this body hair is such a big issue for me and has been one of the reasons I had always felt like my situation was hopeless. I guess the bottom line is that once I start HRT I will find out what my body hair reduction will be. Clearly I am keeping my fingers crossed. I know that laser isn't always permanent but I do believe it can only help too. I have started knowing that it can take around 2 years to really have an effect.

Thank you all once again for responding to be cry for help. I am touched that so many of my sisters have taken the time to share with me this way. All my love to all of you.

My experience, is that almost all of my chest hair has disappeared. However the rest of my body hair except for the pubic area has turned either blond or white as well as vellus. If your hair is dark enough so that laser works, I would consider doing your whole body.

Buy shares in Gillette.. at least that way you get some of your investment back *giggles*

9 years HRT and mine is softer and lighter, but there isn't any less. Laser done properly by accredited practitioners (not fly by night beauty salons) is pretty permanent, and IPL worked well on me, was faster and hurt less.
