Okay, I popped up an
entrance post for Woody, and I just wanted to make a note about it.
Toy Story has very cute characters. This is largely by virtue of the fact that it's in 3D animation, which is very capable of making lots of stuff cute. However, the characters in the game are going to see him as he is, which is a living doll.
That's where our good friend the
Uncanny Valley comes in.
Imagine the toys you had as a child. Now imagine that they could move, and that their little plastic faces, locked into one expression, could now make other expressions, DESPITE IT BEING IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE IT'S MOLDED PLASTIC.
There's a reason Woody scared the bajeezus out of Sid in the first movie, and that is because living toys are kinda freakin' creepy, hence being used as horror fodder for ages--and hence why toys don't just out themselves as living in their universe.
That's not to say that people should find Woody terrifying, but just keep that creepy edge in mind when threading. He's likely going to hit on people's "THAT SHOULDN'T BE MOVING" instincts. And it'd be a fun dynamic to play with.
