So... next week, I'll be flying out to Evansville to visit my friend for a couple weeks. I was talking to her today, and she mentioned maybe having one night out with her boyfriend. Then I got to thinking... maybe I could meet up with someone and hang out

Unfortunately, I'm about 6 hours north in South Bend. So Evansville is not my area of expertise. But if you get the chance, try checking out Bloomington (big college town, lots of stuff to do) and Indianapolis (lots and lots to do).

*nod* Problem is, I'm not going to have a car of my own, and I don't know if my friend is going to want to go much more than an hour or two outside of town. A 6-hour drive is kinda intense anyway, and would involve staying somewhere overnight, and my friend and I are both kinda on the poor side.

I know that you don't know me, I just happened to see this, and I'm from Evansville. If you'd like to message me or anything, and you might be interested in meeting while you're here, I'd be up for that. I love meeting new queers. :)

Well, let's see...
It depends on what you want to do. There's not too much available. There are several bars in town. If you want a straight bar I'd suggest either Hammerheads or Fast Eddy's. If you want a gay bar, I'd say Someplace Else.
Umm... the river is always a good place to go and hang out. It's kind of boring, but it's something to do.

Well duh, of course I don't know you! But that's kinda the point. I want to meet someone cool and hang out or whatever. Judging by your journal I think we'd get along just fine.

Not much available... yeah, that's what my friend was saying. We're gonna go camping at some point during my visit but mostly I imagine we'll be sitting around at her place, watching her son, and then drinking or something when he's asleep for the night. I was actually thinking a gay bar could be cool... oddly enough, even with all the bars in San Diego, I've never really spent any time in that kind of scene. Maybe just due to being trans... I dunno... I never felt like I'd be welcome for some reason. But this is a faraway place (for me) so I don't really give a crap what people will think.

But yeah, this sounds good. I'll drop you a line when I get there with my contact info and stuff. Not sure what day it will be that I'm on my own, but I'll keep you posted.

Ok, well that sounds good. Just let me know what's going on and I'll come down. I'm currently in Vincennes, so I'm about an hour away from Evansville.
