FIX ALL THE THINGS! [Open]

Lowe couldn't help but feel like a part of him died when he saw the mess inside the Hangar. It looked like a war zone tore through the area... which it did, what with a variety of Ohm parts still scattered across. A lot of the damage was easily fixable, thankfully. However, he had to write off a ZAKU that was cleaved in half along with a forklift ( Read more... )

Sumeragi was sitting on the open loading platform of the Ptolemy, trying to make sense of the damage read-outs the ship had given here. It was easier to keep track of everything else going on with a better view of the hangar - people coming and going, trying to take care of some of the damage. One rather dejected-looking man caught her eye, though, and she gave him a friendly wave.

Lowe blinked a bit as he noticed Sumeragi waving at him, his face brightening as he returned the wave. "Oi! What a mess, huh?" he called out.

Sumeragi laughed - the only refuge in such a situation, really. "That it is, unfortunately." The ship above her had some scorch marks along one side, though it was in better shape than some of the units in here. "Are you Engineering?"

"Unless Billy decided to pull me out after I got GLaDOS'd, yeah!" Lowe called out. "Name's Lowe Guele. Junk Guild tech."

"LOWE!"

Have a happy Reimi in a dirty old jumpsuit plowing into you man. She missed you a lot!

"WOAH!"

Lowe found himself taken off-guard by Reimi's arrival, laughing as he calmed down and welcomed one of his friends. "Reimi, glad to see you still here!"

"Same with you! Did GlaDOS have you?" inquired Reimi, pulling back with a wide smile on her face.

"Sadly, yeah. And for quite awhile, too!" Lowe said, scratching the back of his head. "...things really fell apart here, didn't they?"

Aside from attending the funeral and the Engineering department meeting, Jamie had spent nearly every free moment since the end of the last battle working in the hangar. When he wasn't working on actively repairing damaged craft, he kept busy clearing debris or assessing what remained to be done - the closest thing to a break he would allow himself.

On one of these respites he caught sight of someone who looked vaguely familiar but whom he couldn't quite identify, looking over the ruined mobile suit and other wreckage from the fight against the Demon. Jamie ventured over, subdued but watchful.

"Were you here for the battle?"

"Huh?" Lowe turned around and saw Jamie approaching, looking cautious. He didn't blame him - with everything that apparently happened, wouldn't you be careful?

"Ah, no, I wasn't. I came back just afterwards. I wish I was, though. This place is a mess..."

Jamie hm'd noncommittally. "Hard to tell who was doing what. There was a lot going on." Plus he'd kind of been trying not to die and all.

"Ohm breached the hangar, started wrecking everything they could get at. One of their Tank units completely crushed an X-Wing." He gestured over in the general direction of the ruined snubfighter, still sitting in a crumpled wreck across the hangar. "Gonna take a lot of work to get everything back in order, here and everywhere else on the ship."

He directed a bland, tired glance over at Lowe. "'Came back.' So you were here before? Stuck running mazes or something until now?"

Lowe spotted the X-Wing nearby and resisted the urge to sigh. That's another machine he might have to write off.

"Yeah, I was. Got put on the GLaDOS express for awhile." He noticed Jamie trying to size him up, as if he was trying to remember who he was.

At least one other person is already out and about, salvaging away. Given the chaos, a lot of things that previously had, say, locks and nametags on them no longer do, and Howard's going to take advantage of the bounty while the law of the land is still 'finders keepers'.

Unfortunately, dragging an entire spaceship wing, even a small one, across the floor is loud, and Howard stops when he hears someone else approaching. This might be a compromising situation to be caught in.

Even more unfortunately, his hand slips and the little spaceship wing goes crashing to the floor with a phenomenally noisy bang. He peeks around a corner to see if anyone heard that and realizes that he's now face to face with Lowe.

"Hi?"

While Lowe had expected people to come around here, he hadn't expected to find scavengers, even if it was one of the crew, amongst them. The dragging was indeed loud and it caught his attention. Investigating it, he found himself face to face with Howard.

"Hey. Trying to find where that wing goes?"

Wasn't hard to figure out what was going on.

Howard half-considers telling Lowe that's exactly what's going on, but unfortunately there's a scrape leading from the place he took the wing from to where they're standing now.

"Figured it's busted enough that I should haul it up to Engineering. Doesn't do any good to put it back on a ship if it's damaged."

Lowe thought about that for a moment. There was the chance that the ship he dragged it from could still be salvaged, but at the same time, there was a chance that he was being too hopeful. It's probably best to cut his losses at the moment.

"I guess that makes sense. You don't think the rest of where that came from could be salvaged, though, could it?"
