Basking in the Sunlight [completely open, backdated before Vilgax Attacks]

Hoshi was starting to feel a lot better than she did previously and she decided to continue her relaxation by taking a small walk to Hydroponics. She hadn't been here too much, but it never hurt to go to somewhere new here. Following right behind her was Seraphiel, who was in his eagle form for right now ( Read more... )

"It's pretty nice up here, isn't it?"

Above Hoshi in the air there's a young woman with verdant green skin and long bright red hair. She's floating contentedly near the ceiling and seems to have made herself a flower crown from some daisies.

She waves. "Hello."

"It feels like Tokyo in the springtime!"

Hoshi glances up at Morgan, admiring the red hair and the flower crown itself. She waves back with her uninjured hand and sits on her elbows. "Hey! I'm Hikari Hoshi, last name, first. It's really nice to meet you."

She touches down with a light bounce on her toes, settling to her knees on the grass a moment later.

"I'm Megan Morse, last name... uh, last! Nice to meet you too!"

"What sort of things do you like to do, Megan?" Hoshi asks, thinking that her given name was Megan and not Morse. And, even if it turns out to be the opposite, well - her mistake was easily fixable.

Howard's back in Hydroponics, although he's scrounging for fruit again. He's got some cans that he thinks he's figured out how to seal with heat, and is going to try his hand at making jam.

"You look way too happy to be here."

Hoshi makes a little sound, disturbed from her rest before shaking her head.

"Why shouldn't I be? It's like a little piece of home is right here."

"Yeah? Where you from?" He looks around, squinting a bit. "Your home's nicer than mine."

"Tokyo, Japan," she answers. "And I guess it's that way because people take care of what they want to keep."

"I suppose that makes two of us. It reminds me of some of the parks back in Pittsburgh," Stephen remarked. "Not that I get out often here, either."

He gave a lame sort of chuckle at that, before crouching a little, putting his elbows on his knees.

"It's been a while, Hoshi. And hello to you, too, Seraphiel," he said with a nod to the holy beast. "How've you two been?"

He noted the cast on her arm, but figured it might be better to let her explain if she so chose.

Hoshi blinked before opening her eyes. "Hey, Stephen!" she greeted, waving her good hand to him. "And, yeah. I may not have visited Pittsburgh, but the ones at New York were really gorgeous, especially Central Park."

She decided to sit up, sitting in a cross-legged position.

"Yeah, it has. How've you been?" she asked as Seraphiel regarded Stephen with a nod. "I've been pretty good all things considered. Just need to take it easy for a while." She made a motion for her cast. As far as Seraphiel was concerned? Well, he gave a caw to Stephen.

"It is! My parents took my sisters and I there on vacation once. I've never heard such squealing in my life--but that was when we went to the zoo. Little girls and animals and all." He chuckled. Maybe he was disparaging them a bit, but that was a big brother's prerogative. Really, Stephen missed Primaya and Anuja. Not that he'd admit it offhand.

"I thought I saw you at the engineering meeting--are you sure you're going to be taking it easy? I'm taking a break as it is. Or trying, really. You know how it goes. Go for a walk, clear my head...I think Morgan's going to try to put a lock on my lab if I keep staying in it, to keep me out once I leave."

Stephen made a face.

"I bet you guys had a lot of fun there! What are your parents and your sister like?" she asked before chuckling herself. New York really was the city that never slept.

She nodded at him and smiled. "Yeah. I haven't been doing too much with my hand except just scratching it when the cast gets too uncomfortable, but other than that, I'm doing well with taking a break. Morgan's on my own case about acknowledging my limits," she said, giggling just a bit. "Apparently I'm bad at that."

She noticed the face before frowning a bit, placing a hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

Allenby caught the tail end of Hoshi's sentence, though it was too soft for her to know what she was actually saying. It still made her change direction to find the girl lounging on the ground.

"Hey there!" Allenby plopped down next to her, eyeing the cast on her arm. "Where'd you get that?" She meant on the ship or on the ground; it was a pretty sure bet that this was a less dire souvenir of the battle for Lirath.

Hoshi took a moment to glance up at Allenby, waving her hand. "Yo!"

She looked at her cast and chuckled a bit. "On the ground battle," she replied with a smile. It didn't bother her that much since she was used to bones being broken, but it still was a little irritating on the nerves.

Allenby winced. Privately, she thought that Hoshi had probably been lucky to get off with only that, considering that Superman had been killed... she didn't say that, though, because even if a broken bone was a comparatively light injury, it still hurt a lot.

"Ouch. Hope it ain't too bad." She brought her knee up, using it as a prop for her elbow. "Nice to see you're in one piece though, even if it's a bit damaged."

Had those same thoughts been vocalized, Hoshi would have agreed. She wasn't the one who lost their life to protect the lives of the crew, after all. Still, she was smiling rather brightly.

"It's not. It only gets bad when it really itches," she replied. "And, you too, Allenby. I'm grateful that all of my friend are, actually."

"HI!"

There is now a pony all up in your nice sunny spot. What do you do?

Well, Hoshi was going to greet the pony! That was what she was going to do.

"Hey, Pinkie Pie! How are things?" she asked, patting the spot next to her.

"It's kinda stuffy everywhere else, so I came out here to get some fresh air!" Pinkie didn't have to be asked twice, she plopped down in the grass right away. It was then that she noticed the cast and gasped. "Ohmygosh! What happened to your hoof? It doesn't hurt, does it?"

"I hear you there. Sometimes, all you need is some fresh air," Hoshi said with a smile before she looked down at her wrist and held it up.

"Well, I broke it while trying to save someone's life, but nah, it doesn't hurt! It'll heal, like broken bones do."
