A Housewarming Party for a Castle

Sep 02, 2011 17:43

Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.

Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get ( Read more... )

Greetings sunlightsister September 2 2011, 07:44:05 UTC
As Princess, Celestia had often been required to greet guests for official functions. Today, she was happy to be performing this task for a much more relaxed occasion.

"Welcome!" she said warmly to the new arrivals.

In to the castle itself came in a small cart of food, sweets, drinks, and a few other things carried by Hoshi herself. By now, she was getting used to her wrist in a cast and it was coming along nicely.

"Hey, Celestia! I have the food as promised! Where do you want me to set it up?" she asked, smiling wide.

"Hoshi! How lovely to see you again - oh my, what happened to your arm?" Celestia asked, concerned. Had she known that Hoshi was injured, she certainly wouldn't have let her strain herself by baking and carry all those treats. "Please, let me take those off your hands," she said, her horn glowing as she magically lifted up those foods Hoshi was carrying in her arms.

"Ah, it's just an accident that happened from that battle." While Hoshi couldn't say 'I'm fine' since no one believed her, she decided to just go with the flow (and make sure she was relaxing!)

"It'll heal like wounds usually do--whoa." Well, color her impressed, Celestia, at the magical horn. "That's...wicked awesome."

She shook her head to get back to her senses and smiled gratefully. "Thank you, that helps out a lot!"

Rides on the Ferris Wheel (AKA the London Eye) sunlightsister September 2 2011, 07:45:29 UTC
The collection of buildings in the City was most unusual - Celestia didn't know the reason for the Ferris Wheel situated outside her new home, but she was certainly delighted for its presence.

While there was no electricity for the Ferris Wheel to run on, it didn't need it - not with Celestia and her magic. Her horn glowed as she used her magic to turn the wheel - at a rate where one rotation would take half an hour. And with room for 25 humans on each capsule, one could ride with as many - or as few - fellow passengers as one wished.

[[Just let me know in the subject like if you'd like to talk to Celestia in particular - mostly, she'll be on the ground beside the wheel, but she can hop into a capsule as well. Otherwise, since there's heaps of room in the capsules, feel free to make your own threads and tag around!]]

Kaya was usually much more cheerful than this, but the last battle, with fighting and then having to deal with wound and pain and screaming afterward, had done much to subdue the waterbender. Now that she had finally gotten a very small amount of time to wander out of the med bay (thank goodness the other doctors had come back to the bay) she had a good few hours before she had to come back.

Bowing politely to Celestia, she boarded the ferris wheel, hoping that this might at least allow her to relax a little bit.

A familiar figure boarded right after her and noisily shooed her over so that he could take a seat beside her. He glanced over the side of the seat, then up, silently taking in the sheer size of the ride. Finally, he turned to Kaya and regarded her with a simple smile.

"Your expression is rather unfortunate for one who is on a device that is supposed to provide joy."

Kaya's heart definitely felt eased when she saw it was Nokosi who had entered with her on this ride. Normally, this was something that she WOULD have marveled at: it would have been the combination of size and technology that fascinated her. But considering the recent turn of events, she fund the vehicle at least helpful in letting her pretend she was flying, away from everything.

"Well, it hasn't really been a very happy few days, has it?" She said, although she felt much happier with him here. "I just feel a little heartsick today, I guess. That man, that council member that died: I was fighting alongside him only a few hours before. I guess you could say ts sobered me up a little."

Which was not to say looking over the injured in med bay had not contributed to that.

Soup's on, everypony! buckerup September 2 2011, 23:36:18 UTC
Their small-as-it-was supply of food was jointly provided by Applejack and Hoshi. Cupcakes from the Beyblader and assorted other things lined one end of the table, with a smaller plate of apple treats lining the other. One apple cake, one apple pie, a few fritters, freshly sliced ones...she'd had to restrain herself to one tree of the precious few they had. She hadn't even liked that much, but it was for the Princess and she deserved the best.

"Step on up!" Applejack invited with a little wave of her hoof. "Wish I could bring you Equestria's best, but this'll have to do!

"Applejack, it's good to see you again. How are you doing? I do hope you were not too tired making all the treats by yourself." Rarity said as she gestured to the food.

"Rarity!" Applejack poked her head over the table, smiling widely at her. "Well howdy! Naw, it ain't no trouble at all. Not after that time we had roundin' up bugs. After that, everything else is easy as pie."

Easy as that apple pie she was quite proud of. "Where've ya been?"

"I've been decorating the place for the housewarming. Princess Celestia lent me a hoof too. She is quite a good designer." Rarity pointed at the apple fritter. "May I? I never got the chance to sample it at the gala."
