Now there was a sight Billy hadn't seen in a very long time. Cassie and Pinky, looking quite happy to be together. It was almost miraculous that they were together again, really, so that was understandable.

He waved to them, coming closer to investigate. "He looks healthy."

Billy had to resist cooing at Pinky. He was undeniably cute and it was hard not to react to that. He made sure the little grub mole was secure in his arms before answering.

"He's away on a mission right now, but I worry he'll take his anger out on me when he returns. Lash has been...antagonizing him, I hear. He definitely didn't appreciate the googly eyes attached to his rear end. And he's made it very clear that making my life miserable is his goal."

"I suppose I'd better tell the abbreviated version of my story from the beginning, then." Billy took a breath, hoisting Pinky up to rest against his shoulder. This was going to be very interesting.

"A long time ago, on a world far far away, Earth's era of peace ended when Rita Repulsa broke free from the spell sealing her on an asteroid. She used her newfound freedom in an attempt to conquer Earth, one that my friends and I were recruited as Power Rangers to attempt to stop.

We fought her off for a year, but after that time...Lord Zedd, the original Emperor of Evil, believed she hadn't succeeded in leveling the planet fast enough. He proceeded to re-seal her and take her place as our opponent---if he could crush the goody-good Power Rangers, Earth was as good as his. And now he's a crew member here."

"And he wants to kill you but can't because we're all stuck on the same boat and Stacy would freak. And you never know if he's decided to change his mind and go after you. Well that's.... nice." She put her right hand on her hip. "Well, I've got your back if you ever need the help."

"Exactly. I'm especially worried if we're ever sent on a mission together---he can't be stopped as easily away from the ship. I can probably stay alive for a little while, but he'd almost certainly win in the end. There's only so far getting stronger can take me against magic."

As stacked as the odds likely were against him, Billy appreciated Cassie's support. He nodded his thanks, managing a little smile. "It means a lot, Cassie. Just be careful. If he can use any friends of mine to get to me, he will."

"Right. As long as I'm not left alone with him, I have a fair chance of survival." Billy didn't want to think about all the ways he could be left alone with Zedd.

"How do you feel, Cassie? Is the pain gone?" Yeah---awkward change of subject go.

For a brief moment she made a face. "I'm... fine." So convincing. "I mean I'm much better than I was. No pain killers needed right now or anything but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't any pain. But it's worth it."

Billy was expecting that. "Good to hear it's improved. Uh...are you allowed water exposure at the moment? Because we have a number of baths at the bathhouse that might help you relax."

Yup, that enormous structure Billy had supervised the construction of during her absence.

"I- I think I'd better pass. I'm not sure if it'd be bad." That was a lie, she was pretty sure that it would be harmless. But baths involved changing into something with a lot more skin showing and her arm was still scarred, and not the slight kind that she had on her hand or on the edges of where they sutured in the new skin.
