Ca-chick! Sure, maybe cameras weren't meant to make that noise. The ones she was used to had been more of a puff of air, a soft click, and then a bright flash of light when the bulb went off. This still had the flash, if it didn't always go, and some option that recorded video. Armed with a new toy she could actually sort-of almost work, Sakura ( Read more... )

Sasami had been busy doing some double-checking of both her restaurant and the old Palace, making sure no one decided to sneak in, when she heard Sakura's poor yelp.

Curiosity got the better of her and she ran over to see what was wrong. "A-Are you okay?"

Sakura had the camera turned around right, pressing buttons again to see if she could undo whatever she'd done to get the delay. "I'm fine! I'm trying to figure out what I did with this, I didn't mean to disturb you." She smiled, looking sheepish (while feeling frustrated with herself).

"Smile?" she said, holding up the camera again. Hopefully she'd turned off the timer, or else this whole picture thing got a lot more exciting and chancy.

"Oh, it's alright! I wanted to make sure that everything was okay, that's all!" Sasami said, nodding. When she offered to take a picture, her smile turned brighter.

"Sure!" she said, offering her a big smile. It had been awhile since she'd taken a picture.

Sakura sighted Sasami in it's back display panel. It felt a little awkward, so a moment later the camera was pressed to her eye, and Sakura was looking through the smaller viewfinder. Once she had the shot, she took it: ca-chink and flash!

"Thank you for asking," she said, glad the delay hadn't happened again this time. "You... you were working on something restaurant related, weren't you? How's that been going?"

Anything outside of wondering about what still remained unsolved.

The air around the city had been a lot calmer that day. Ronnae had moved from her little battlefield as she took a 'break' from defending the area she used to plaster her drawn memories at. For now, she was taking a stroll around a more vacant part of the city nibbling on some taffy.

It was then that she noticed the bright flash and the voice, so she set out to investigate. Peeking out of a window, she noticed Sakura and tilted her head curiously, still nibbling on her candy.

"What'cha doin'?" came the small sweet voice of the half breed kiddie.

She looked up toward the sound of a young voice, blinking in surprise at who she saw. She smiled, looking a little sheepish. "Ronnae?" she asked, before looking back at the camera in her hands and flipping it around so the lens faced outward. "I'm trying to take a picture with this camera, but it looks like I've hit some button that makes it work at a few second delay."

If that'd make sense. "It's not working like I was expecting it to." Would she really need to try and read that manual again? Maybe even finish it this time? "What about you? What're you up to?"

"Esplorin'" she said as she crawl up, above and over the window unto the street.

"No better way to get the hang'o stuffs than tryen. Trial and trib... trab... truba... tirebulatioms." she said finally, butchering the word.

"Tribulations," Sakura corrected neutrally, smiling. "Think that ties into learning through trial and error, too?"

How about photographic proof of people running around as a studly teenage demon? Because Zetta has been doing that and he knows it.

Which is possibly why he was posing for the camera.

"Hyaaa ha ha ha ha! That's right! Drink it in!"

Sakura was still blinking the flash out of her eyes, drinking in all of a blinding spot in the middle of her vision. Still, if she was getting an obliging subject, she may as well see if she can figure out what she even pressed to set the delay in the first place.

"Sure, something like that. Look, can you just stay like that for a little longer?" She redirected the camera back around to face Zetta. Now, what had she pressed last time before she hit the 'take picture' button?

"You'd be surprised how long I can pose," Zetta said, continuing to do so in a way that emphasized claws, fangs, and wiry muscles. "I sign autographs, too. Just another service for my fans."

"I'll keep that in mind in case I run across any of them," she said, making sure he was lined up so those silly green focus boxes on the screen were over his face and shoulders. "One, two--"

Ca-chick! Flash!

"Got it!" Not that she was sure what she was going to do with 'it,' but hey, the better message was her camera was working correctly again. Sakura grinned. "You can stop posing now."

Einhart sighed, concentrating a bit as she worked on using her magic, now that her linker core was actually working properly again. That thing with Signum was, well, scary, to say the least.

So far, she had little more than a green, glowing sphere of magic in her hands, and it was rather tiny.

She blinked, the light fading as she turned to look over at the strange pink haired woman. "Are you alright?"

Sakura was blinking rapidly to try and dispel the aftereffects of sudden bright light in her eyes. "I'm fine," she said, smiling in the direction of the voice she didn't recognize. "I surprised myself hitting the wrong setting on this thing, that's all."

She lowered the camera, feeling a bit sheepish. Technology really should be more user friendly, in her currently far from humble opinion. "I didn't mean to disturb you."

Einhart nodded. "It's... alright," she said, looking over at the other girl some more. She... didn't really know what to say.

She smiled, waiting for a moment to see if this young woman would say anything more. When she didn't immediately, Sakura decided to take her version of initiative. "I'm glad. My struggling with technology should really only bother me, huh?" She offered her a hand for shaking. "My name's Ha-- Sakura Haruno."

Making a fool of myself might have been the more honest answer, but Sakura stuck with the literal one for the time being. "Trying to take a picture," she said, turning toward Ren with the camera. "I must have hit some timer option, because when I've been pressing the button to take a picture," she demonstrated, "It's been--"

Flash!

"--working at a delay. Except, of course, right now."

"Any idea what it looks like?" Sakura examined the back of the camera, looking for something that might reference time. Time they were running out of, part of her thought, if she avoided looking at Ren as it came to the forefront of her mind. They'll have it destroyed in time.

She glanced back at Ren. "Want to take a look for yourself?"
