What, hey! Alex was supposed to be the one appearing and saying the first word! But he wasn't going to say that, nope.
"No you go back to the pods!" Alex replied as he jabbed a finger at Zetta's direction. "I'm going out for a stroll and stretch my legs! You should just sit in your bookshelf if you don't want to be mistaken as trade goods, hahaha!!"
Another shore leave? Jamie frowns a little, thinking back to Zokez II. Who knows what'll go wrong this time?
Still...a little shopping might not be a bad thing. He has a wee idea for something he'd like to make and this would be a good place to see if they have what he needs. It'd be worth a try, anyway.
Daniel squinted up at the screen. XaXing rotated overhead, and incredibly populated from the looks of it. For supposedly destroying the universe, the Ohm missed a spot. Maybe that was a sign. There was still hope.
The archaeologist had only just arrived, sort of, and there was so much of Stacy to explore, but a planet. He could feel that thrill that went through him every time they were about to disembark. It never got old. It didn't look like they'd be going by Gate, but still. A new planet, with a new people, new trades and traditions.
Kang was right, Stacy had issued them some sort of currency. Whatever a XaXingian credit was worth. Daniel was thinking this was a bad idea and at the same time, he didn't even care. Giving him credits and then putting him down on this planet was the equivalent of letting a kid loose in a candy store. Were they leaving yet? He'd already finished reading, he was beyond ready.
So much land already developed. 96% of the land for commercial use: an entire planet devoted to trade. It was incredible!
This would be Inara's first Shore Leave. So soon after she had popped, too. Perhaps that was a good thing. There were certain things that she wished to acquire for herself. She wasn't aware of how far 3000 XaXingian credits would take her, but that was alright. Whatever she could get would be enough, for now, at least.
Wasn't that the good looking chick from the pods? Yeah... he had gotten enough of a look at her face, nudity aside, to remember that much. Besides, those eyes were unforgettable.
Could he trust her? He wasn't entirely sure, but hey... hot girl. Big weakness. And a bit of opportunity.
"Hey, strange question for you, if you got a sec?"
"Chase, right?" Inara asked, giving him her hand. She gave him that warm, encouraging smile that she seemed to hand out like a dentist hands out sugar-free lollipops. "I assume that ushering everyone from the pods to the Observation Deck worked out well?" Yes, she was making polite small-talk, but that didn't mean that she she wasn't going to answer the as-yet-unheard strange question. "Please, ask away. I will try to answer it to the best of my ability."
"Pretty sure everyone got out. A few people had a bit more trouble with it all than others, but to be expected." he replies, answering the small talk first. "So, seeing as we don't know what to expect on the planet, but we got some shopping to do, and seeing as you seem to have a way with people, can I trade'ja an escort and help finding whatever you're looking for in exchange for some help on the negotiating? I need to help Kang out for a bit, but after that, I got some stuff I need to find... I... got a gift for finding what I'm looking for." Literally. "But I kinda suck at negotiations." True, and also reading and math, which he doesn't mention just yet.
Shore leave. Fantastic. Exactly what Billy needed: some rest, relaxation, and a chance to restock supplies. He would explore with his friends, get a gift for his girlfriend, enjoy the sights....
...or not, he thought, remembering who else was also among the crew and departing for shore leave. Introducing Lord Zedd to an unsuspecting world where the rules couldn't be enforced instantaneously was just asking for trouble, wasn't it?
Billy said a quiet goodbye to any hope of relaxation. There was always the worst to prepare for. It could be another Ohm attack, another invasion, Zedd's attack...no rest for the weary here. And without Zordon around to provide the warning when an attack was initiated, Billy would just have to be his own viewing globe.
"Let's get this over with," he sighed miserably. At this rate, he couldn't wait to come back to the ship afterward.
"You don't sound too enthused," Anwei said. "At least this place sounds like it might have some more modern supplies for sale."
She took out her omnicomm and tried to access the local datafeed, and the screen immediately filled with a blur of flashing, jiggling, multicolored text. Text blocks, pictures (rude, lewd and otherwise), and animations layered themselves over each other, each one frantically trying to capture her attention.
Good thing she had the sound off.
She disconnected from the feed, and quietly suggested, "Make sure that the omnicomm filters are set to screen out any active code that might be uploaded. This planet clearly doesn't subscribe to the Clean Data Act."
"If I have time to shop for them," was Billy's answer. "I'll likely be spending my time tracking a certain enemy of mine. The lawlessness of shore leaves means we're in greater danger."
He was able to take out his omnicom and start work on the necessary adjustments, though. "Setting them now. We don't need our data compromised by unknown people."
"I hate to see you distracted. Would this perhaps be the flamboyant person who arrived at the last podpop, Zedd?" She'd seen Billy's omnicomm post, of course. "I can hardly see him sneaking up on anyone, but I'll certainly keep an eye open if he seems to be doing anything suspicious."
She set her omnicomm to 'text only' and accessed the feed again. "I don't think it's malicious, but at the same time we don't need people filling Stacy's mind with offers to enlarge her tentacles or whatever. What a hash...this is going to take a lot of reviewing to see if there's any actual valid data being broadcast for free. It may be here, just buried under all the advertising."

Might as well see if there's anything worthwhile to get if he was going to have some sightseeing.

Looks like Alex wasn't the only Overlord intending to get off the ship for a bit... if the only one who intended to stretch his legs.
