The Amazing Kick-Myself Man! [Open]

If one had ran into Spider-Man recently, they would notice he was feeling a bit like crap. He hated to have found and brought Merlin into custody, but at the same time it was the law of the ship. Now, granted, he hated the rule of "all past deeds don't count here", because what's to stop madmen like Norman Osborn from showing up and doing something ( Read more... )

"You know that thing's not sentient, right?" A girl with iridescent insect wings and bright pink hair (which was run through with a few black streaks) asked Spidey. She grinned and perched herself on a free spot on the Statue. "As crazy as this place is, we're not in Ghostbusters II."

Pixie grinned brightly at Spider-Man, a feat for her, considering that she had just discovered Xavier's Mansion...which had a river running right through it. "That was a joke."

"Right now? If that ended up being true, I wouldn't be surprised!" Spidey said, chuckling at what she had said. Pixie looked familiar to him, but he couldn't put his finger on it at the moment. He shrugged it off for the moment and continued on.

"Sorry you had to watch me talk to inanimate objects just now. It's starting to feel like I'm back in New York again, what with half the people distrusting you and the other half thinking you're a menace."

Pixie eyed the Statue out of the corner of her eye. "You've got kind of a point there..." she said, her wings twitching. She tilted her head, listening to Spider-Man. "What happened?" she asked. "I just...got out of running mazes in GLaDOS land, so I'm a little out of the know."

GLaDOS? Oh, that's certainly putting the ol' Spider-Sense on high alert.

"Apparently, someone snagged one of those... Yeerk-things... I think that's what they're called... out of a kid and, well, thanks to the wonderful rules we have here, yours truly had to go and bring the guy in for kidnapping." Spider-Man said. "And from what I understand, Yeerks are 'serious business'."

Sadly, this isn't the initial Spidey that was here and if it was, he has no idea about what's going on with them.

He couldn't help but laugh as he heard MJ's voice. "I guess I am, aren't I? At least it's not during the middle of a fight...!"

At that, he brought himself down from his perch, joining his wife. "Something wrong, or are you just worried I've finally gone nuts?" Totally smirking under his mask here.

MJ reached up to flick his forehead. "Ha, ha. Can't a wife just be concerned for her derpy husband?"

Peter couldn't help but laugh, removing his mask as he did. "Nah, something like that doesn't hurt at all...!"

"Y'know, at least the statues I talk to have the capability to talk back after the sun goes down." Peter said, coming up behind his alternate.

"Well, I'd have other people to talk to, but, ah... they're all being asleep at the moment." Spidey said, a bit startled. One bad thing about his Spider-Sense? Doesn't work on himself.

"Okay then." Peter said, shrugging. "Before I ask you why you were talking to yourself, just on the off-chance whatever it is might affect me? Clark Kent's been thinking about setting up a shipwide newspaper. Figured you might wanna know. And I also figured you might wanna know that he's not gonna let us get away with taking pictures of ourselves, not that there'd really be a point to that anymore."

Spider-Man listened to his younger counterpart and what he had to say. On the plus side: another job, but this one won't make him feel like a total heel. On the down side, there goes the usual way.

"...you noticed he never said we couldn't take pictures of each other." he pointed out.
