Left Hanging (open)

The first time Anwei had visited the vehicle bays, she'd been in too much of a hurry to really appreciate the sight. She'd scanned the rows upon rows of machines with a single hungry thought: which of these can I recognize, where is something that can give me a clue about getting out of here ( Read more... )

A large, glossy black motorcycle came rolling down one aisle of vehicles; it ran quietly, but Anwei would still notice it approach if she were listening.

As it came closer, a ghostly white figure appeared in the air above it. "Anwei, that was quite prompt."

It was more the changing shadows than the noise that caught Anwei's attention, but once she turned she recognized both the vehicle and the AI.

"My data can wait, Fuyu; people come first." And by people, she meant Fuyu as well as Zouichi. "I remember how anxious Horanckk could get when I was injured or unwell. I'm sorry to have been a part of upsetting you both."

Fuyu smiled. "As an AI, I'm rather limited in how I can interact with the world at large; many times, the only thing I can do is worry." And maybe use the gun racked on the bike

"However, it was certainly no fault of your own. At any rate, I believe we left so hastily that Zouichi completely neglected to give you this."

A compartment opened on the bike's right side, allowing Anwei to catch sight of a medium-sized white, unwrapped box.

"Well, that was not always the case with Horanckk." To put it mildly. With his skills and code, he thought nothing of jumping into nearby systems and raising mischief. She still remembered the extremely rude merc whose next automated medical exam after crossing Anwei's path went - interestingly wrong. And was broadcast to the entire ship. While being set to a laugh track.

Anwei's eyes widened with delight at the sight of the box. "For me? I - Fuyu, are you certain that Zouichi wouldn't rather give this to me himself? I mean, you certainly know far more about him than I do, but I don't want him to feel that you are doing something that he'd rather do. And some people are very particular about how gifts are given and received."
