Splish Splash, I was taking a bath (Bendy timed to just after the weddings)

Not everybody wanted to go to the consummation huts straight off the bat. Which meant if they wanted to get cleaned up, they needed another spot to do so in ( Read more... )

Mai wasn't all that shook up about public baths, but it was still a bit awkward. She kept herself submerged to her chin, eying the rest of the group. At least this part of the trip was going to be relaxing. Unless someone decided to bother her. That'd be beyond irritating.

Well, she WOULD be interrupted, by someone who tended to be as chatty as Mai depending on the situation. Mindy was more or less lounging at this point, perfectly fine not having to talk with anyone at the moment.

"Hey," she said, eying the apparently bashful person. "Not comfortable with the baths?"

Ah, of course the baths would be public. Much like his own work back in the City, actually, but he knew he'd definitely installed more privacy features on-board. When you were just married and lacked a nudity taboo, he supposed this structure was sufficient, but it definitely wasn't his preference.

Billy tried to settle in a corner near the crew members, focusing his attention on bending his arm backward as far as it would possibly go. If he tried hard enough, surely he could wash his own back, right?

Public baths weren't taboo to Hoshi. They had them in Japan and she used them with her teammates, so she was pretty chill with them. That, and they were also on the ship. Awesome.

She sank as much as she could in the water, Seraphiel coming to join her as he was perched on a rock. She knew her pouch with her beyblade inside, as well as her launcher and the Gaia Memories were all safe with her clothes.

"Mm... feels like the hot springs back home," she idly commented, a smile on her face.

Seraphiel appeared in the corner of Billy's vision after a while, signaling that Hoshi was nearby. He glanced toward a blond head poking out of the water and hesitated. Would she be all right if he talked to her? She had a cool and carefree attitude during their past conversations, but this could be...different.

"Hoshi?"

By now, Hoshi was stroking Seraphiel's beak, even getting a few playful nips on her finger that didn't bother her. She blinked when she heard her name called and looked around in the direction of it.

"Yeah? What's up?"

Billy turned toward her once he was sure that everything was safely hidden. "I just wanted a conversation," he added, lowering his voice. "To prevent myself from becoming a topic of discussion to the locals."

It wasn't that he wasn't curious, this was just a bad time in his opinion. "How was the wedding?"

Ronnae knew about public baths. Her siblings had tried getting her to join plenty of times. It just wasn't her thing however, she'd usually stay far far away from them.

However, she was unsure if denying the hospitality of the elders was something that might ruin the mission. She wrapped a towel as best she could around herself and got into the bath. She decided to be far from the group, but close enough in case she needed to hurry to them, after all, public bath meant the locals would also be joining the group in their bathing.

Of COURSE the public bath was, well, public. Sam just wasn't going to catch a break today, was he?

He sighed, stripping off and getting in the water as quickly as he could. At least if he kept his back against the wall, it wouldn't be so bad? At least, that was what he kept telling himself.

Maybe one more time and then the magic will happen.

Until then, the human can enjoy the company of the Doctor, who's slipping into the water next to Sam whether he's ready or not. The Doctor has a big grin on his face, the kind a cat gets when it's found a cardboard box. Dunking his head into the water, he bobs back up, his hair in his face as he sticks out a hand. It's a small miracle he even gets Sam's direction right when he looks like he can't see a thing.

"The Doctor. I didn't catch your name back in the TARDIS. Good work, by the way."

He offers that dripping wet hand in Sam's general direction.

He wishes this was the weirdest thing that had ever happened to him.

Sam blinks at the Doctor, completely and utterly surprised that the man's actually looking in the right direction, too. He looks at the mans hand before taking it and shaking it solidly. "I'm...not sure I actually introduced myself at the...TARDIS, did you say?" He shakes his head. "Uh...Sam. Sam Winchester. And you're welcome. I better be decent at it by now."

"TARDIS, yes. Place you barged into, very orangey. Well done with your barging (excellent, I'd say, you're very good at it)," the Doctor pumps Sam's hand, splashing some warm water, "Pleasure, Sam."

The Doctor finally drops Sam's hand after shaking it for a second too long and "peering" at Sam through his sopping wet hair for several seconds to change it from merely too long to a bit uncomfortable. The Doctor settles back into the water, pleased. Ah, this is perfect. This is indecently perfect, this public bath and he's aware of how indecently perfect it is, too.

"Interesting Latin," the Doctor suddenly remarks, studying his hand underneath the water's surface.
