A hero is a terrible thing to waste

It was raining, she had opened a door and it was raining.

Something entirely too strange to ignore.

Sandy had inadvertently stumbled upon the Sensoriums like so many newly awakened pod poppers. And like most of them the first thing it had summoned up was memories of the homeworld. The place long gone thanks to the Ohm.

Sandy entered carefully feeling ( Read more... )

T_T Spidey! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! judau_ashta January 10 2011, 18:48:19 UTC
Judau had been wandering around the ship as well, trying to get a proper feel for the ship, especially since he could no longer sortie until the ZZ was fully charged and repaired. What he had not expected however was the sudden surge of sadness close by. He had known this feeling quite a bit already, though those were in smaller doses. This time, it had just been pure pain. Whoever was close was easily suffering from something by a great amount ( ... )

Hahahaha it's canon in her verse! justoutrunyou January 10 2011, 23:45:08 UTC
Sandy looked startled by being grabbed suddenly and jerked away stumbling and falling to the ground in a puddle as the fight...well you couldn't really call it a fight raged on behind her. A man made of sand, mud in the rain was smothering the old man now while his partners laughed and cheered.

Sandy simply looked up at the newcomer in stunned confused silence. He wasn't part of her memory, he didn't belong here.

This is pure evil! T_T judau_ashta January 11 2011, 14:04:49 UTC
Whatever this place had been, those things could not have possibly been real, none of this could. It certainly looked as if it was real, and every sound and solid object around felt it as well, but unlike with Sandy, he could sense nothing from the scene unfolding before his eyes, besides his own anger at seeing it all.

In that case, anything he did might be a waste. And what could one person alone do to a man made of sand? Even if Judau had his gun on him, what could it possibly do? The only weapon remotely useful would have been the ZZ itself!

"This isn't real!" he said to the girl. "I don't know what the hell this is all of this exactly, but whatever it is, you may have the power to get rid of it! You are in control here!"

"What are you talking about?" She asked sounding shell shocked, "This is already done...I saw it happen." She turned back to watch as the scene seemed to start over. Instead of crying or even protesting this time she tilted her head curiously watching as once again a young boy was gutted by a muscular man with a huge knife. As a man made of water slammed into the nearly skeletal spider-man followed by a man with a suit of green metal with a huge powerful tail like a scorpion.

"This...is hopeless." She began to back away from the crowd and turn to run, much like she had the first time darting off into the rain soaked streets of the dark and dangerous looking city as red beams of light began to race across the sky in a web.

Peter's route to the science labs generally took him by the Sensoriums. He had been working on improving his web-formula, though in realithy that was just busywork to keep his mind off of the fact that, in addition to none of his family or friends showing up, the older Peter's MJ had. Not that he wasn't happy for the older him, but it was still kind of a kick in the gut. The few people he had known from home didn't even remember him, and had vanished quickly after showing up.

Hearing Sandy's shout, he acted quickly, bursting through the entryway, and saw the girl's terror.

"Stacy! Shut it off!"

And just like that the world melted away, which actually seemed to scare Sandy even more and she spun about sharply eyes wide like a mouse looking for a whole to escape down.

Oh hey Peter you're between her and the door, and she just took off running for it like a bullet. Might wanna slow her down or get out of the way.

Or he could just stand there, providing a much more solid obstacle than his small frame would suggest.

"Sandy? Hold up and calm down. Everything's fine."

WHAM!

For a scrawny little kid she sure hit like a linebacker...well a linebacker for someone her size. Still against Peter she took more force from the blow and fell over hard looking around nervously like she expected the world to appear again and swallow her up.

"What. Was. That?" She asked, though her face betrayed fear her voice was hard and angry.

Normally, people in the Sensoriums seem fairly cheery, as far as Eva's seen. And they conjure up parades and beach resorts and treasured memories, not rainy New York brawls. Eva twigs fairly instantly to the fact that something's wrong.

It's not real, she hears someone in the midst of the fight saying. "You're right, it's not! Whosever's head this is, this isn't real!" she shouts. She sees Sandy, looking terrified, and rushes over. "It's not real, it's a projection!"

Sandy almost jumped out of her skin at someone rushing over to her looking at the brawl and then Eva, "You weren't here...there..." She looked back at the fight as Spider-man was sliced across his chest by a massive knife.

"He was supposed to save us. But he's just an old man now." She muttered as the heroes mask was ripped off revealing a possibly dead old man's face, soaked with rain and sweat and blood.

"Close your eyes," she says calmly, even while she flinches at the images of violence. She's seen much violence but it never fails to stir that fight or flight response. "It's a projection. The Sensorium is tricking your mind into thinking it's real. Think of Maui. Think of Hawaii and isolation."

"Maui? What's a maui?" But Sandy closed her eyes tightly as she was bid trying to close out the world around her.

And...oddly enough as the world began to calm and melt away the young girl turned to solid stone.
