Alex looked up upon hearing Rei's voice. He went red, remembering the mess that he had caused a while back.

He scrambled to stand, but nearly dropped his laptop as he stood, causing him to fumble for it desperately as Alice hung onto his shoulder. He realized after making such large flailing motions that he would definitely be noticed, and had no choice aside from turning around and smiling awkwardly at Rei, answering him, "I-it's h-hard ta tell... s-sorry."

The clatter of a computer almost being dropped caught Rei's attention. He glanced around, then smiled when he heard Alex speak up. "Oh, hey, the bleeding k-- I mean... Alex, right? How's the arm?"

He had been about to make some idle small-talk when he noticed Alex's little rat buddy. And remembered something.

"Oh hell, where's my dog?"

Alex went brighter red, his ears getting a red tint. "I... er... I-I'm doin' o-okay I guess..." He began rubbing his arm where the cut had been. "I'm afraid I don' r-really know."

"GLaDOS g-got ta ya?"

Once again, it looks like Zhiai'kahn went looking for authority and found only a young troll. He looks up in surprise as she rustles through the vegetation, then smiles as he recognizes that funny rust-colored face.

"Oh, uh, hey there. Ahl, right?"

She blinked and shook her head a bit, confused to be coming across the wheelchair-boy in the hydroponics. The contraption just seemed so unwieldy and out of place in the vegetation. Then again, a lot of the technology she'd been seeing around the ship looked unfamiliar.

"Ah, yes," she said, slowly "hello. Nitram, was it? Forgive me, I'm a bit out of sorts at the moment."

Yeah, it isn't always easy to wheel over this sort of terrain, but it's worth it to Tavros. There's all kinds of cool stuff to discover in here. Besides, it wasn't much easier to roll through the grass back home. He can adjust.

He smiles as she recognizes him.

"That's right, and you're, ummm... Zika, or Zila... something-something Ahl."

He shrugs, apologetic.

"I guess, it's been awhile."
