Asuna was somewhat back in action herself, finally over the virus that had caused her to flip out and nearly kill someone who'd been kind enough to let her stay onboard the bus that she'd nearly destroyed...! At the moment, she was silently staring at her Pactio card while semiconsciously making her way toward the open door.
"Sorry about that! I didn't know it was open, but..."
The second she realized who's room it was, the girl's visage took on a different appearance entirely. That person she'd nearly killed? It was Matt.
Matt looked up as he was chewing on the end of the pencil, and slowly he pulled it out before gazing at Asuna. And then he smiled, waving her in. "Come on in," he invited.
In truth, relief was flooding his body as he had been worried sick about her for ages. "How do you feel?" he inquired softly.
"Terrible. But if you mean mentally, I'm fine." came her response after a moment of wondering what to say to someone after you'd nearly killed them. Apologizing didn't seem to be enough.
Awkward wasn't it? Matt sighed and he sat up a little more as he gestured her over. "Come on, sit down. I don't have a chair but you can sit on the edge of my bed."
He chucked softly. "I don't bite you know..."
"I'm glad you're mentally better but I'm sure that's not all that's on your mind..." said Matt.
He . . . might want to get un-engrossed for this visitor.
"Matt?"
She stands in the doorway, still in her Guardian form. All those weeks of running mazes in GLADOS, just because she had done it so many times before didn't mean Will had gotten to like it . . . but as glad as she is to be back, coming back to a heavily bandaged boyfriend . . .
"Will..." Now it made sense, the last words on his lips before he nearly passed out days ago. She HAD been taken by GlaDoS, there was an explanation for it all, the hollow sensation when he passed her door, the empty plate he set out every morning for breakfast.
"I uh, got into a fight," said Matt. "Came out on the losing end. It looks worse than it really is."
Lies really, but he didn't want Will to worry or storm out and hurt Asuna or SOMETHING.
That was an impending cat fight that would wreck the city.
Pardon her for a moment, all of her nightmares are playing across her mind. You know, the ones where terrible things happen to him, and she isn't there to help.
Then, Matt is injured. Matt needs hugs. Gentle ones, because, again, injured.
"I'm so, so sorry. I don't even know how long I've been gone, but I missed you so much. I should have been there to fight with you."
"It's okay," soothed Matt as he hugged back gently. "I forgave the one who hurt me. It wasn't her fault at all, there was a viral infection that caused people to go wild and out of control."
He rubbed her back gently, feeling that warm frame beneath his palm. "I wouldn't feel right if I didn't forgive her for one incident out of our control."
