Katara had popped in to see how Beastboy was fairing as far as room set up. There was already a sort of gloom after all she'd seen. so it was fairly noticeable that Katara's hair was out of order and she had rings around her eyes: add to that the slow feeling at the loss of someone she cared about, and the feeling of something hurtful being released in her that she didn't understand. Right now, what she wouldn't do to see someone from her world...but as none of them save for Toph were involved with the Outsiders, she didn't see that happening. Despite that, she'd managed to try and put on a cheerier attitude for the rest of the group, and had hastily wiped her eyes to ready herself for today's festivities ( ... )

"Hey!" He sprang over the sofa and landed with a thud in a pile of pillows, "It's nothing special but I'm tellin' ya once everyone gets settled in it'll feel way cozy and comfy. Here check this out." He flipped the switches on the wall fiddling with them for a minute till the disco ball started turning throwing it's bright lights along the walls giving the room a more festive flare.

"Bet you never saw one of those back with the Water Tribe ah?" He asked with a grin.

Katara was pretty impressed, at least by the disco ball. It reminded her of the club she visited on the planet before the Ohm trashed everything. She actually really liked the way it threw light over everything: it was still a little amazing to her. She clapped her hands, but gave him a bit of a smirk.

"And WHY would we need that for watching movies, Beastboy?"

Beastboy opened his mouth to respond...and then closed it again as he gave it some thought.

Finally he answered decidedly, "Atmosphere. For you know...getting to know everyone." He paused again and looked awkwardly at the door, "Um...if anyone comes." The last part was meant to sound like a joke. It didn't.

Alex had actually been spending quite a bit of time in the Outsiders' headquarters here and there, having taken to occasionally taking to sleeping on the sofas there instead of his own room by the media library.

He was still in the habit of hiding when someone passed by, but he had said on the comms that he'd bring his laptop and try to set up some games to be played. He really had almost no knowledge on how to rig things, but at least he had to try, right? Maybe someone else could help with setting it up.

Beastboy greeted Alex in his usual unusual manner by changing into an animal. This time a fat green rat scurried along the table and sat next to Alex's laptop waiting to be noticed.

Alex was confused a moment, since Alice was smaller and still on his shoulder. Then he noticed the rat was green. "Beastboy!"

They had only talked a few times, mostly over the omnicomms, but that didn't mean he couldn't appreciate a fellow gamer. He put his arm out so that Alice could climb down- she had been seeming like she wanted to investigate this new rat- and let Alice approach Beastboy, sniffing at him and trying to figure out who he was.

Beastboy sniffed back and wiggled his rump making a dash for the edge of the table jumping off it and turning into a cat mid fall to land gracefully on the floor before turning back into his pointy eared self.

"Cool rat dude." He greeted offering a hand in greeting for Alice to sniff.

Starfire hoped she wasn't too terribly late. It had taken longer than she had expected to ask the crew members for some form of snack. Anything would be wonderful, she'd begged.

Finally, she'd come away with a somewhat large bag of potato chips after promising to help with some chores. Grinning, she plopped the bag down in front of the people gathered there.

"I have located the snacks!"

Once that was declared, she observed the decor. "You have been most creative with the lighting, Beast Boy."

Beastboy's eyes lit up at the bag of chips but he quickly held back. Let all the others have them first A voice in his head that sounded like Raven ordered him. "Heh, thanks Star! I was going for something bright and hip you know? Something cool!"

Starfire floated up to the disco ball, spinning around it with a shining smile. "It is quite pleasing to the eye. Do you require any other assistance before the film begins?"

"Uh not really I don't think..." He tapped his chin in thought, "Actually, if you could like, find someone you haven't spoken to yet and get to know them? We gotta know each other and like, learn about each other if we're gonna work together right?" He offered hopefully trying to sound like he knew what he was doing.

Laurie enters with a nice bright mood.

She doesn't announce herself. Simply walks in, with a small smile, and Spot at her heels, observing the decor with a tiny appreciation for Garfield's different taste in decorations.

Said lean green hero was making the rounds trying to get people to socialize when he spotted the blond. Tugging himself away from a conversation with Starfire about something he slid up to her grinning.

"Laurie! You made it!"

Laurie turns around at Beastboy's greeting. "Hello, Garfield," she says warmly. She feels more open today than she did a few days ago. "I like what you did with the decorations." She points to the chili pepper lights.

Spot mimics Laurie's mood, circling Beastboy with his sniffer, and then sitting at the green teen's feet.

Beastboy knelt down to greet spot with a petting trying to hide his goofy grin and blush, "H-heh heh thanks! I tried to make the place feel cool but like...totally cozy you know?"

Standing up again he couldn't help but meet her eyes and feel a familiar fluttering in his stomach that surprised him. He hadn't felt that in awhile. Pushing it away "So like um...what kinda movies do you like?" He asked cheerfully.
