Vincent checked and double-checked the runes he'd painted out on the floor, having found a suitably secluded hallway. After being dismissed by Cybil, Lucca had conscientiously continued mapping what she could of the City, only to feel an inexplicable, inchoate attraction to this corridor. Her feet seemed to pull her this direction of their own accord even as she wondered why, and was becoming concerned about hostile magic before Vincent began to "speak"...by which time, she'd nearly reached the corridor.

"You do realize you could've just asked, right?" She stood there, arms cradling her notebook, noting the blood-sketched circle surrounding him with some concern.

Vincent attempted a friendly smile. "I prefer the direct approach. Saying you understand magic is one thing, but now I've verified it. You should understand that as a scientist." He grinned disarmingly.

"Magic always has a cost. At least in my reality. It's a superficial wound for my metabolism anyway." Vincent replied.

"Magic has strength in numbers. I'm interested to see how magics from different dimensions interact with one another. It may be an invaluable exercise to prepare for whatever hostilities this vessel faces."
