As the motorboat puttered along in the open ocean, the princess sat near the edge with her arm dangling over the boat's side, fingers skimming the top of the water. It had been a few days since Lacus had mentioned a picnic, and, while Cagalli had had no idea what she was talking about, she didn't mind the prospect of more time with her friend. Lacus smiles, perfectly innocent. She was glad that Cagalli seemed more amicable to the idea now, since she and Athrun needed to work some things out. It would be better if they didn't start out with teeth bared.

"Yeah, I'm going to try. That's what this whole stay is about, isn't it?" Cagalli asked, not really needing an answer.

She glanced out at the island ahead of them, taking in the scenery. It looked like the ride would be fifteen minutes, tops.

"Mm!" The response was fairly absent, but the scenery, lovely as it was, demanded a bit of upbeat exclamations.

MEANWHILE ON A SEPARATE BOAT jesushasagundam June 18 2010, 02:35:01 UTC
It had been Lacus' job to get Cagalli there, and Kira? Well, he'd been tasked with convincing Athrun to come along.

He'd never driven a boat before, let alone a small, zippy (and expensive-looking) motorboat like this one, but he picked up fast. It was actually rather enjoyable to feel the little spray on his face every time they drove through a wave. He'd missed living by the sea more than he'd realized.

"The girls said they'd meet us there," he called back over the hum of the engine to Athrun.
